A garden is a paradise for all the senses!  The taste of a sun-warmed tomato, the cool feel of a watering can, the floral smell of roses, the view of a lush, green plant against a turquoise sky: so many pleasures for the home gardener and the sensory support it provides, a wonderfully satisfying space for people living with dementia too.

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month. As we pay tribute to our loved ones impacted by cognitive issues, At Home Senior Care advocates that we should also be thinking of the family caregivers caring for these loved ones.

Since there is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s or dementia, supportive caregiving plays an extraordinary role in making the quality of life for the person living with the disease a positive experience.
